30 to 50 cm of snow expected for "high terrain" areas

Another bout of intense snowfall is expected to begin overnight and continue until tomorrow.

This extended period of snowfall may result in a substantial accumulation, potentially reaching 30 to 50 cm in elevated regions.

"In Calgary specifically, western areas as well as higher elevations such as Nose Hill, are most likely to see 10 to 15 cm while other areas of the city will see much less." stated Environment and Climate Change Canada as a snowfall warning was issued at around 4 p.m. Tuesday. 

The rapid accumulation of snow could pose challenges for travel, especially in certain areas. Expect sudden reductions in visibility during heavy snowfall.

"Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow."

Included in the snowfall warning is Cochrane, Airdrie, Olds and Sundre.
