A loss this morning to Manitoba's Freeman rink has dropped Team Wipf to second place in their pool of the U21 New Holland national men's curling championship.

The Wipf rink, that includes local curlers third Ky Macauley and lead Max Cinnamon, conceded after the Freeman rink scored two in the eighth end to expand their lead to 8-3.

The Freeman rink now has sole position of first in the pool with a 5-0 record.

Prior to that, the Wipf Rink was perfect in their first four draws.

Team Wipf has a 7 p.m. draw tonight in Fort McMurray against a British Columbia team skipped by Alex Duncan-Wu.

Preliminary play continues tomorrow morning against their fellow Alberta rink skipped by Timothy Marin, followed by an evening draw against Northern Ontario's Brendan Rajala rink.
