The Kimmett Cup Pond Hockey tournament is looking like it will exceed all expectations..

The three on three hockey tournament just keeps getting bigger and better every year.  This year 52 teams are registered, filling up all time slots, but plans are in the works for a kid’s tournament to take place on the Sunday.

Reid Kimmett, Co-Organizer of the Kimmett Cup Pond Hockey Tournament, is delighted with how this event has grown over the years, originally organized in his late sister’s honour. He is very thankful for the place we call home for making this tournament what it is today.

“When we set out the first year (of the Kimmett Cup) there wasn’t plans to even have the second year, or continue to grow like it has. It is a testament to the amazing Town of Cochrane and all the support we receive."

The Kimmett family is hoping to reach their goal of $500,000 for the Children’s Wish Foundation.

The Kimmett Cup is taking place February 10-12, and coincides with Rogers Home Town Hockey, also taking place in Cochrane. To find out more information about this event, or added registration information, click here.
