Warning Labels will be Devastating to Canadian Agriculture
Producers could take a hit when food warning labels appear in grocery stores.
Associate Ag Critic, John Barlow, says the Liberal government is going ahead with putting warning labels on products high in salt, sugar, and fat, even if they are all natural.
Items getting a warning label include cheese, yogurt, and meat products.
Barlow says, with the labels encouraging consumers to choose alternatives, producers will take a hit on their unsold products.

The public is invited to comment on the Government's proposal for mandatory front-of-package nutrition symbols for foods high in saturated fat, sugars and sodium.
The consultations will be available online until April 26th.
