Federal Agriculture Minister Lawrence MacAulay will meet with U.S. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue later this week.

MacAulay will host Perdue at his Prince Edward Island farm on Friday, at a time when trade tensions are boiling over between the two countries.

The meeting will mark Perdue's second visit to Canada.

The pair will meet up again in a few weeks in Savannah, Georgia, along with their Mexican counterpart Jose Calzada, to continue NAFTA discussions.
