G3 Canada has announced they're building a grain elevator a couple kilometres west of Morinville, north of Edmonton.
Construction is expected to start shortly, and is planned to be done in 2020.
Like the company's other new elevators in Western Canada, it will be able to unload trucks in less than five minutes.
They say, it will load 150 car length trains under continuous motion on a loop track system, keeping grain moving to market.
The facility will be serviced by CN Rail, and G3 Canada says it's well placed to move grain to their new export terminal in Vancouver, which is also expected to be complete in 2020.
“This is part of a growing network of high-efficiency facilities that is speeding up the movement of grain in Canada and around the world,” says G3 CEO, Don Chapman. “But it all starts with the farmers, and we’re looking forward to putting our industry-leading efficiency and customer service to work to earn their business at G3 Morinville.”
Construction is also underway on new G3 elevators in Carmangay and Wetaskiwin.
