Alberta Agriculture has set up an online survey to gather feedback on the next five-year policy framework.

Agriculture Minister Oneil Carlier says what should be included in negotiations with the federal government and the other provinces is very important to determine.

"The survey is open now and it runs until May 8 to hear from everyone and as well we're doing four very focused, invited representatives from agricultural sectors in roundtable discussions," Carlier says.

Carlier says negotiating the next agreement is important in determining how producers, and rural communities can be supported.

He wants to hear from producers and other stakeholders so they can come up with an agreement that supports sustainable growth an d improves the lives of Alberta producers and their communities.

"It's on everybody's minds because every province and the federal government as well knows the value that this has for our agriculture sector," Carlier says.

The Growing Forward 2 agreement invested more than $400 million in everything from crop insurance programs to to further the value added food processing industry.

Growing Forward 2 expires March 31, 2018.
