The troop put together a take-action project for International Day Of The Girl Child and made a joint letter which they sent to the mayor and council. At the last Council meeting, they proclaimed it a day in Cochrane.

The International Day of the Girl Child is an international day declared by the United Nations that focuses on the challenges girls face, promoting girl empowerment and celebrating strong females.

The 2nd Cochrane Brownies have also teamed up with The Cochrane Public Library to bring a display to life in the coming weeks.

The young ladies of the 2nd Cochrane Brownies are already looking forward to a more public celebration of Cochrane’s International Day of the Girl Child in 2022.
