The Gens lost their third straight game by a one-goal margin on the road against the Mountainview Colts on Sept. 28.

The two teams went into the third tied 1-1 but two goals in 3 1/2 minutes gave the Colts a 3-1 lead to put them in the driver's seat. The Gens scored a short-handed goal a minute later but were unable to notch an equalizer.

Taylor Girard scored his first of the season to put the Gens on the scoreboard from Jordan Fisher and River Ross. Defenceman Ryan Davis scored the short-handed goal from Jordan Marks and Ben Davison.

Fisher and the Colts' Marshal Quartly exchanged blows in the third and both received game misconducts for fighting.

The Gens have three games this weekend against two winless teams, including two games at home Saturday and Sunday. The weekend starts with a home-and-home series against the High River Flyers. Saturday they host the Flyers before testing the Lamond Lakers on Sunday.

The losing streak has left the Gens fifth in the south division standings of the Heritage Junior Hockey League early in the season. Having only played one game against a south division team so far, this weekend will mark their first full weekend against south division rivals. The Okotoks Bisons remain the only undefeated team in the south division, amassing 25 goals in four games and allowing 10.
