551 Cochranites will be warm this winter thanks to community

Nearly 600 Cochranites were able to receive warm winter gear at this year's Jacket Racket. 

The annual event that sees gently-used winter attire distributed to local residents saw a sharp increase in numbers, with 58 per cent more people attending. 

Three hundred and six adults and 245 children received warm winter gear at the event that was held on Oct. 28. 

Thanks to the generosity of Cochranites, 379 jackets, 63 pairs of boots and 276 mitts, hats & scarves were donated. 

"A heartfelt thanks to Cochrane and area residents, dedicated volunteers, and incredible partners for making 2023 Jacket Racket an enormous success!" states a post on the Cochrane Family & Community Support Services Facebook page.
