Cochranites are in for a treat next month when Canadian award-winning singer/songwriter Duane Steele comes to town to perform.

He and his band will take concert-goers on a flashback journey as they sing songs and tell stories of country music legend, George Jones.

Steele has been performing The Legend of George Jones show for a couple of years, and said there's nothing like it. "It's one of the best musical experiences that I've done as an artist. We're telling the story of George Jones, who arguably was the greatest country music singer of all time. We're telling his story in song and in picture, we have multi-media to go along with the story."

Money raised from this event goes to support Cochrane & Area Victim Services.

"As artists whenever we can help to leave something behind in the community with organizations and help out, that's always a plus for everybody." said Steele.

Tanya Galliott, volunteer coordinator with Cochrane and Area Victim Services said the funds raised will help them to grow their services.

"We are hoping to be able to expand our community engagement opportunities. Expand the services that we provide and reach out further to the people that we can help in Cochrane and area."
