It’s a clear win for the Cochrane High Cobras Junior Girls’ volleyball team.

The team struck gold in Divisional Finals on November 9 winning their first three sets against the Bow Valley High Bobcats. The games scores are 25-8, 25-18, and 25-17.

Esther Sieben, Senior Varsity Girls’ Volleyball Coach and Junior Girls' Teacher Sponsor, says the girls were just really on their game.

“The Cobras were just very skilled and very strong and they kind of executed well today. They passed the ball up, the setter was on, the hitters were on; it was like clock work.”

The Cobras senior girls also played well against the Bobcats in their Divisional Finals despite injuries.

The senior girls battled it out for the bronze medal and Sieben, says the Cobras played strong and got the job done.

“There was some consistent defense and good passing. We had our second string setter in and she did a really good job. She stepped up and put the ball in the hitting zone, we had a very successful night.”

The scores for those games are 25-19, 25-21, 25-23.

The girls will go on to play in the South Central Zone Championship tournaments. The juniors play Chestermere and the seniors play Bert Church on November 18-19.
