Cochrane has gained 700 new residents in one day. The Calgary Hitmen’s Teddy Bear Lane event took place earlier this month and collected 17,000 stuffies over three days and 700 of them came to Cochrane.

Marina Chabbert from the Cochrane And Area Events Society says they had some help getting all these stuffies back to town.  “We had a big trailer and Scott Willis from Mountain Toys generously donated his time and his trailer and truck and went to pick up the bears for us so we have a total of 700 bears in the trailer right now”

“It's the most we've ever received! We are very fortunate that we’re on that list and that they're willing to contribute that much.”

A large amount of the teddy bears went to the Cochrane Activettes during Saturday’s Stuff-a-bus event, but Chabbert says there are lots to go around. “We're going to give some to the Pregnancy Care Foundation. Of course The Activettes, and we're reserving some for other little areas as well.”
