A second body has been recovered from Spray Lakes Reservoir

Canmore RCMP has confirmed that a search team has recovered the body of a man from the water in Spray Lakes Reservoir. 

The recovery took place at approximately 3 p.m. on Monday, July 11. 

The deceased has been identified as one of two missing boaters whose boat capsized on Sunday, July 10. 

Canmore RCMP along with Kananaskis Emergency Services, Alberta Conservation Officers, and a cadaver dog continue to search for the other missing male boater. 

At approximately 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2022, Canmore RCMP was dispatched to a report of a capsized boat in the Spray Lakes campground area, of the Spray Valley Provincial Park. There were four occupants in the boat at the time it capsized. One person was self-rescued, one was confirmed deceased, and two remain unaccounted for until the discovery yesterday.
