The latest report shows an increase of 29 new cases of COVID-19 in the province, for a total of 652 active cases.

Alberta’s COVID-19 hospitalization rates remain low with 50 people currently in hospital, four of which are in intensive care units.

Two more Albertans have died in the last 24 hours bringing that total to 143.

The Cochrane- Springbank geographical area continues to have three active cases of COVID-19, and have had 18 recoveries to date.

In total, 6,160 Albertans have now recovered from COVID-19.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw did not provide a press conference on Thursday, however, in Wednesday's update she reported the province's first possible case of multisystem inflammatory syndrome, a condition linked to COVID-19 in children. The condition presents symptoms similar to Kawasaki disease including rash and fever. It also presents severe inflammation of body parts and organs including the heart, lungs, kidneys and brain.
