Alberta Health Services (AHS) is experiencing a province-wide outage that is affecting various different resources.

Just after 9 a.m. on Monday (Jan. 23) morning AHS tweeted that they were facing an outage that limited access to their 8-1-1 Health Link service.

"Health Link 811 continues to be available in a limited capacity," said AHS in a tweet. "Wait times will be longer than usual as we restore full service."

As a result, it was announced that AHS would be postponing some elective, non-urgent surgeries until the outage has been fixed. Patients affected by this have been contacted with procedures being rebooked as soon as possible.

"Community lab services are also being impacted and will be reduced at some sites. Critical results are being communicated," said AHS in another tweet.

AHS is asking anybody facing an emergency to call 911, which has not been affected by the outage.
