A 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged after allegedly assaulting a toddler in March.

On Mar. 8, Airdrie RCMP were informed that a 20-month-old child was seriously injured and required medical attention.

An investigation found that the toddler's injuries were the result of an assault believed to have been caused by a man living in the same house.

Last Friday, police arrested and charged the man with aggravated assault.

His name is not being released to protect the identity of the child.
