At a press conference on Friday, March 27,2020, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney announced several new rules and closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

56 new cases of COVID-19 were announced, bringing the total number to 542 in Alberta.

All non-essential retail businesses must now close and restaurants that have been offering dine in options must close. Takeout and delivery is still allowed. 

Close contact personal services such as hair salons, tattoo parlors, dentists, physio clinics, chiropractors and the like are prohibited.
