Alberta is reporting 1,300 new COVID-19 cases since Friday.

  • Friday saw 586 cases, Saturday 430, and Sunday 284.
  • Hospitalizations have decreased by 52 to a total of 608. 
  • ICU admissions decreased by six to 135.
  • Unfortunately, another 13 deaths have been recorded bringing the total deaths in the province to 3,155. 
  • COVID vaccinations continue to rise with 87.5 per cent of Albertans having received one shot of the vaccine. 
  • The percentage of Albertans who are fully immunized is 81.2 per cent. 
  • Active cases in Cochrane have increased to 81 while Rocky View County has 74 cases. 

Cochrane schools status:

  • Fireside School has an outbreak status of 10+ cases.
  • Cochrane High, Elizabeth Barrett, Glenbow, Manachaban, and Westbrook School are all on alert for 2-4 cases

Today was the first day of eligibility for thousands of Albertans to receive a third booster shot of COVID-19 vaccine. 

Those eligible with the parameter expansion include:

  • All Albertans aged 70 and older
  • First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people aged 18 and older
  • Front-line healthcare workers 
  • Albertans who received two doses of AstraZeneca or one dose of Jansen while abroad
