Education Minister Adriana LaGrange announced this afternoon (Wednesday, May 19) that all students in grades K-12 will return to in-class learning as of Tuesday, May 25.

There is one exception, the municipality of Wood Buffalo, which will return on May 31.

The minister said that the reset that was implemented on May 7 has been successful and helped to alleviate the pressures on the school system.

Of course, all health protocols including wearing masks, cohorts, and seating will remain in place for students and staff upon the return on Tuesday.

LaGrange is hopeful that everyone who is eligible, will get vaccinated a soon as possible as it will help the in-class learning model to operate even more safely.

LaGrange ended by thanking all Albertans who have been impacted by the decision to switch to at-home learning.
