In today's COVID-19 update from Alberta Health Services, Cochrane is reported to have 48 active cases, up from 46.

Rocky View County (RVC) jumped 10 to 89 from 79.

Provincewide, another 1,183 cases were identified yesterday from 16,765 tests. There are  currently 13,628 active cases. 

In total, 851 are hospitalized with 135 in ICU.

Over 1.64 million Albertans have been tested and over 2.9 million tests have been completed.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been three deaths in RVC from a total of 738 cases. Cochrane has had one death and a total of 280 cases.

Today, it was announced vaccine appointments will be offered to health-care workers in medical, surgical, and COVID-129 units.

This means about 3,300 COVID unit staff and 15,400 medical and surgical unit staff are now eligible for the vaccine.

In addition, a directive from Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw has been issued that will allow doctors, nurses, and pharmacists who are not Alberta Health Services employees to deliver the vaccine.

As of yesterday, 37,686 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Alberta.
