The 24 hour extension added to the 72 hour strike notice issued on Thursday Aug.25, by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, has been extended for another day.

After the first 24 hour extension, which ended midnight yesterday, Canada Post and the CUPW have yet to come to an agreement.

With negotiations moving forward, both parties have agreed to an additional 24 hour extension that will expire Tuesday, Aug. 30 at midnight.

The current collective agreement will continue to apply, with both parties hoping to resolve the current dispute.

If a new agreement is not in place by the end of the extension, postal workers will start their job action, which includes refusing to work any overtime.
