Even though the first OFFICIAL day of winter isn't until December 21st...Here in Cochrane, we've certainly gotten our fair share of the white stuff already this year;

and there's a lot more of it in the forecast!

Cochrane along with other areas in Southern Alberta is currently under another snowfall warning, issued by Environment Canada.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Dan Kulak says we can expect to see a significant accumulation by tomorrow.

He says "We can expect 5 - 10 cm of snow today and another 5 - 10 cm tonight. With the weather system giving the snow, there are winds moving into the terrain. Basically snowfall in those higher terrain areas and just beside them - which is where Cochrane would be and even over to Calgary. Those winds are part of the equation, not just making it feel colder but helping produce the snowfall."

Steady snowfall is expected to continue throughout the day and into tomorrow, so it's important to adjust your driving, with changing road conditions and rapidly accumulating snow, as visibility may be reduced.

Kulak says "the good news is that the system is moving out and we're looking at warmer temperatures, above zero by the early part of next week."
