The three males, ages 35, 34 and 27, and all from Red Deer, are currently in custody awaiting bail hearings and charges related to an armed robbery in Cremona.

Two males wearing masks entered a Cremona motel on Jan. 16 with a long barrel firearm and demanded cash from the employee. They were unsuccessful in obtaining any money and fled in a black Hyundai Elantra with a third male suspect behind the wheel.

A short time later, RCMP received a report from an area resident that a small black car had slid off the road east of Cremona near Range Road 34. Police attended the location and confirmed that the vehicle was the same one used in the robbery.

The suspects had fled the scene and were driven by another area resident to the McDonald's in Olds.

The three were arrested without incident at the McDonald's.

Their names will not be released until formal charges are laid.

RCMP are continuing their investigation and are asking the public's assistance for any information related to this incident. If you have any information, please contact your local police service.
