There are six local pharmacies that are now providing asymptomatic testing in Cochrane. The testing is for those individuals that DO NOT have any symptoms. Fireside pharmacist, Gunjan Dave says that it is necessary for people to make an appointment with the pharmacy in order to, "maintain traffic control and social distancing and safe procedures."

The test is a throat swab that only takes a second. The swab is then sent to a Calgary laboratory which should have a result returned within approximately 24 hours if they are not overly busy.

It is important to know that if you require a testing letter for work or travel that the pharmacy test will not be accepted. For those purposes you must have Alberta Health Services test done.

Local pharmacies providing asymptomatic testing include: Fireside, Save On Foods, Sunset Ridge, No Frills, Shoppers Drug Mart and Two Pharmacy.
