With seven games remaining the AC Avalanche will be turning up the heat to win a spot in Sutter Cup.

Head Coach, Kenton Levesque, says the boys have been playing a good game as of late.

"We have had our ups and downs but we are happy with the direction we are leading, we'll play some meaningful hockey games at the end of the season."

Levesque says they are a couple points away from a playoff spot, so they will have to turn up the heat if they hope to make it.

"You want to be playing at the top of your game going into Sutter Cup this gives us a great opportunity to prove we have what it takes to make it into playoffs."

Strategy going into these last few games will be fairly status quo and Levesque shares everyone on the bench will get an opportunity to play.

The next two games are on home ice when the AC take on the Bruins and the Blazers, and Levesque says it doesn't get much better than this.

"From a coaching standpoint this is my favourite time to play, favourite time to coach we are just extremely excited."

Levesque is hopeful to pack the stands this weekend, stating "the more fans in the stands the better; the more energy the guys will have."

Puck drops at 4:15 pm Saturday the 4th, and 5 pm on the 5th.
