Kids head back to class in just a couple of weeks and the Cochrane and Area Family Resource Network wants to make sure they're ready with a Back to School Fair.

Coordinator for the Cochrane & Area Family Resource Network, Wendy Farnsworth said there will be a wide range of local agencies on hand to explore.

"It provides families an opportunity to gather resources and information from over 40 community services and organizations that will set them up for a really successful school year."

The event is geared for students going into Kindergarten to grade 12, and Farnsworth said it will provide great resources for all the new people of Cochrane.

"It really helps them settle in their community, get connected to the resources and the organizations and service providers that are available to them. Plus it's fun and it's good to connect with other people, and maybe the kids will run into other people that they might see at school."

The free fair will feature life-size games, balloon animals, glitter tattoos, a photo booth and an appearance by Butterfield Acres.

Kids are being encouraged to dress up as their favourite storybook character.

It goes at Spray Lake Sawmills Centre on Saturday from 10 to 2.

Pre-registration is not required.
