Some backcountry campers have raised the ire of Parks Canada officials.

Campers in the Banff backcountry are being reminded to pack out what you pack in.

Recently, the trail crew had to clean up and carry out a mess that had been left behind at one of the sites.

Officials are reminding campers that bear bins are provided in the Banff backcountry to store items safely.

They're also asking that users fully clean out items when they leave.

They add that littering is not only unlawful but also hazardous because it can attract wildlife.
