The Beef Cattle Research Council (BCRC) is an organization dedicated to developing research to better the Canadian beef cattle industry, but the research can cost a pretty penny.

Their funding for their Beef Cattle Industry Science Cluster came from Growing Forward, but Growing Forward 2 will come to a close March 31, 2018.

The science cluster funding went towards research projects for the industry addressing issues impacting public confidence in Canadian Beef.

"The science cluster, as we understand, is definitely being maintained as a component of CAP. The Government has actually done a really good job to take the good pieces and keep them and also work on improvements with the program. So, is it going to effect us? I think yes, but in a positive manner in the sense that this program still exists and we continue to grow upon it."

Brocklebank says, they are taking a lot of elements from Growing Forward 2, and keeping them in the CAP.

The third Beef Cattle Industry Science Cluster will be in effect from April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2023, and BCRC will be applying for $20 million for the third beef science cluster, however the Canadian Agricultural Partnership funding has not yet been announced.
