The senior girls Bobcats remain undefeated at the halfway point of the Rocky View Sports basketball season.

Thursday night, they beat the Cochrane Cobras in a low-scoring 39-27 game at Bow Valley High That gives them a 4-0 record heading into the exam break.

During the break, they will be playing in what head coach Kris Nielson anticipates to be the toughest tournament of the season.

The Rose Tournament at Sir Winston Church, Jan. 31 - Feb. 1, features top 4A teams from Edmonton, Calgary, Germany, and the #1 ranked 4A team in Manitoba. Both Bow Valley and Cochrane High are 3A schools.

The Bobcats open the tournament against Archbishop O'Leary, one of Alberta's top 4A teams in the province.

They'll also be playing in a Canmore tournament before returning to defend their title at Crescent Heights Calgary, Feb. 21-22, just before playoffs start.

In the other girls' matchup on Jan. 14, the junior girls' Cobras downed the Bobcats, 57-45.

The Jr. Cobras have a 2-1 record and the Bobcats a 1-3 record after the matchup.

In Rocky View boys' action, the senior boys' Cobras remain undefeated with a 3-0 record. The Bobcats have a 0-4 record.

In junior boys' play, Cochrane High is the only undefeated team with a 3-0 record.

Play resumes the first week of February.
