On Friday, February 10 at about 11 p.m., Parks Canada received a report of an abandoned car parked at the trailhead to Polar Circus Ice Climb north of Lake Louise. 

RCMP officers arrived at the Ice Climb on the morning of Saturday, February 11. 

At that time, a drone was launched and a short time later, the body of a 42-year-old man of no fixed address was located. 

A rescue was mobilized and the deceased was removed using a helicopter. 

The cause of death has yet to be determined pending an autopsy.
