A bottle collection is on its third day to help those in need of support to allow their children to attend summer camps of BGC of Cochrane and Area.

Paul Singh says it will continue until at least Apr. 18.

With life getting closer to normal, Singh says they started to think about the impact of the pandemic on kids, and how the camps are important to their development.

"It's about the experience they will get," he says. "Sometimes it's hard for parents to put out the extra money, especially with everything going up in this environment. So whatever money we raise will be given to the Boys and Girls Club."

"I'd really like to encourage families new to Cochrane from different parts of the world to take advantage of the resources we have in town. The Boys and Girls Club is such an amazing organization and they do lots for youth and teens, so it will be a really good opportunity to learn and assist with their overall development."

Bottle pickup is available or they can be placed in the marked trailer located behind the Cochrane bottle depot, 205 Railway St. E., during its business hours.

Singh and a group of other community volunteers have run several successful bottle drives in the past to support several local causes. This is the first one of 2022.
