The 2022 outdoor rugby season is set to start on April 25 and registration for various age groups is now open.

There is youth, men’s, and a newly formed women’s league.

Returning with all its pre-COVID action, the Bow Valley Grizzlies are looking to build the club membership back up to where it was before the pandemic.  Sarah Costen says, “One of the things we want to do is build up the sport and build up the club again 2020 saw absolutely no rugby whatsoever, we weren’t allowed to train or play games or anything 2021 we went back to a restricted way of playing.”

Costen wants to emphasize, “We are open to new players registering all the time. If you’ve never played the sport before if you’ve never played rugby before if you played in high school and looking to return everybody is welcome, we have no tryouts there’s never any bench warming. If you register, we have a spot for you on one of our teams and you will be playing.”

For those who are interested in giving the sport a try without a formal commitment, the club will be holding two “Try Rugby” days coming up in May for all ages.

Registration and information can be found on the Bow Valley Rugby Club’s website.
