The Bragg Creek Community Association (BCCA) is looking for feedback from the community to better determine the evolving needs of area residents.

BCCA Board Director, Jordyn Vienneau says they recognize that after two challenging pandemic years, those needs have changed.

"Naturally, COVID has really caused everybody to pivot and sort of change their perspective on what they want from their community," explains Vienneau. "So, the BCCA board is trying to be proactive in this and capture what the evolving needs are of our community right now."

They are currently conducting an online survey and seeking input on what types of events and services local area residents are interested in accessing at BCCA.

Vienneau says with spring and summer just around the corner families will be looking for local programs to fill their kids' time. She explains that the online survey will help them plan that programming.

"We're trying with this survey to get some feedback from parents on what type of programs they would like us to see us offer," explains Vienneau. "The reason we're putting out the survey right now is so that we have enough time to actually utilize the feedback from the survey before the warmer time of the year."

She says they aren't just looking for input on kids' programming though.

"What programs are you interested in? Who would you like to see the program for? --  for seniors, adults or children? What has been your favourite event in recent times, we can recreate that sort of thing."

She goes on to say that they'd like to hear from local residents that have a skill that they'd like to teach at the community centre.

Although the pandemic has created some barriers for BCCA, according to Vienneau they're excited to get back to in-person programs and events. They re-launched the 'Winter in the Woods' festival this year, which along with raising community spirits, raised approximately  $12,000 to help with upgrades to their outdoor rink.

The online survey only takes a few minutes to complete, and as an incentive participants can choose to enter a draw to win one of several gift cards for a local restaurant.

Vienneau says there isn't a specific cut-off date to participate in the survey, however, the sooner they can compile the data, the sooner they can plan for their spring and summer programming.
