Bragg Creek native Megan Pelkey has won Gold at the IWWF U17 World Water Ski Championships in Santiago, Chile.

The competition started on January 5 and wrapped up yesterday (January 8).

Pelkey skied in three events, Slalom, Tricks, and Jump which all contributed to the overall competition in which Megan won the Gold. Impressively, she was also the only female skier that made it to all three of the finals.

In Slalom, Megan placed 9th, Jump 11th, and took the bronze placing third in Tricks. Megan has said Trick is her favourite category. Another Canadian, Hannah Stopnicki placed first.

The latest Gold medal will go with Megan's collection as she also won Gold in U17 Girls Overall at the 2022 IWWF Pan American Championships back in November of 2022.

Congratulations to Meghan Pelkey for representing Canada and Bragg Creek so well.
