Cochrane Lions Rodeo Queens typically only hold the title for a calendar year before the crown is passed to the next queen.

But due to the pandemic, incumbent Rodeo Queen Breanna Correia has held the title for nearly three years.

Looking back on her years serving the community, Correia says that one of the highlights for her was at this years Calgary Stampede.

"Stampede was a once in a lifetime experience. It feels amazing to walk out onto such a big stage surrounded by people and hearing your name called off of the grandstand, it's just a wonderful feeling. One of my favourite events was actually the parade. Just being able to wave to people like four stories up in the parkade buildings was just amazing as you're walking your little horse down this huge city road was just so cool."

Looking towards the future Correia says that this is just the beginning of her involvement in the town of Cochrane.

"I hope to still be involved in the community, and this is just the start for me, this will open a lot of doors. You make a lot of connections and I hope to continue working on those connections within this wonderful community."
