What a game!

Hockey fans were on the edge of their seats yesterday taking in the gold medal game of the IIHF World Championships in Riga, Latvia.

The final match-up between Canada and Finland proved that it's not over 'til it's over. Team Canada was getting pulverized at the start of the game, then turned things around going from zero to a 3-2 overtime victory over Finland.

Flames Forward, Andrew Mangiapane was named the tournament's most valuable player, finishing the event with seven goals and four assists for a total of 11 points.

Cochrane's Dillon Dube was supposed to be joining Team Canada but he was forced to sit this one out due to a concussion.

The last time Canada brought home gold was back in 2016, and they won a bronze in 2019.

It also was the first team in the history of the tournament that any team won gold after losing its first three games.
