The Canlin Energy Corporation continues to support the valuable work of the Cochrane Society of Housing Options (CSHO).

Today, the operators of the Wildcat Hills Gas Extraction Plant, west of Cochrane, presented a $2,500 to help CSHO hire a housing resource worker.

"For those tenants that need a little bit of extra support, we have put this position in place, explains Corrine Burns, CSHO housing coordinator. "We've had it for a couple of years now, and we've found it's a position that's essential for us to maintain."

She says Canlin's continued support is appreciated.

"This year with COVID affecting everybody's income-generating ability, we reached out to Canlin to see if they could support us with this position, and they provided us with $2,500, which is awesome. We're very excited about that."

Canlin operations administrator Kaili Dale says among their past contributions was a large donation for the Hitching Post affordable housing project in Sunset Ridge.

She says they were pleased to be able to provide support for the housing resource worker position.

"Today, with all the trials and issues that COVID presents, it's just a nice little boost to the program," says Dale.

Board members Samantha Nickerson and Paul Singh were present to accept the ceremonial cheque from Canlin.

Nickerson has been a board member since early 2019 and is the CSHO marketing director.

"All of the affordable housing in Cochrane is actually done through grants, sponsorships, and the money that we earn at Home Reno Heaven, so these donations are super important because we couldn't offer affordable housing in Cochrane without them."

She says they are currently expanding their marketing plan to create a greater awareness of Home Reno Heaven.
