The Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation (GRPF) and Route 22 have come together with the assistance of other partners in creating an Art in the Park celebration, May 14-15.

Visitors to the park will be able to watch artists painting "plein air" capturing the awe-inspiring scenery of the park and have the opportunity to participate in family-friendly events.

"We're going to have artists stationed throughout the park at some of our key vistas and we'll have a map letting people know where those locations are," says GRPF executive director Sarah Parker. "We'll also have golf carts for people with mobility issues so they can get throughout the park to see the artists in action."

They'll be guided children’s art classes, guided photography walks, and pop-up galleries in the park.

Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. the Route 22 Artist Collective Gallery, 312 Fifth Ave. #18, will be hosting a live auction of the works created over the weekend.

A free shuttle service is being offered from the Route 22 gallery to the park throughout the weekend, courtesy of Cochrane On-Demand Local Transit (COLT).

Other partners for the event include Cochrane Tourism and Alberta Parks. The event has been created with the financial support of the Cochrane Foundation.
