There will be fun, food, prizes, golf, celebrities and a lot of smiles made at the second annual Rocky Mountain Rotary Celebrity Golf Classic.

It's set to go on June 19th and funds raised from the event will once again go to support the Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation's summer camp program.

Rocky Mountain Rotary club president Ryan Baum said they've committed to sending more kids to camp this summer.

"Last year our efforts went there so we could help expand their program, and they went from 80 kids to 300 kids this year. We were excited to be a part of that, and are excited that we can again help raise funds to continue that great program that they have."

Baum said the extended committed to Glenbow Ranch Foundation is $50,000, and they're hoping to continue building towards that number with this event.

The club still has other big events coming up in 2023 including the Outhouse Races in September, the annual Community Builder Awards and they're taking on organizing Cochrane Light Up for the first time in November.

It won't just be a regular day of golf at the Bearspaw Golf & Country Club, Baum says they've partnered with former Calgary Flames player Curtis Glencross to help bring in 36 celebrities.

"Dillon Dube's coming, Theoren Fleury, Colin Patterson, Ryan Stone, and some of the players of the past. But it's not limited to hockey players, we've also got singers coming as well, Gord Bamford will be there to help celebrate the event."

Each golfing foursome will have a celebrity join their team.

Baum said you don't have to be a great golfer to play, it's going to be a best-ball tournament. Anyone is welcome to sign up.

There's still an opportunity for local businesses to join in on sponsorship opportunities.

Baum said one of their major community contributors is Spray Lakes Sawmills.

There are still a few golfing spots available as well, and they're anticipating on selling out this week.
