At a two-hour session this Saturday (Jan. 14), residents can learn more about the ins and outs of residential solar power.

The latest in a series of talks presented by the Cochrane  Environmental Action Committee (CEAC) will delve into myths related to solar power, including capital costs, rebates, payback periods, and more.

Speaker Valerie Atkinson, residential business manager with KCP Energy, will be joined by others representing a variety of perspectives on residential solar.

It's being held from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Earth Studio, second floor of the Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre.

It's free to attend but advanced registration is required. Click here.

The Living Sustainably series was created by CEAC to provide information on how to mitigate our environmental impact and become more environmentally aware. The first session in December examined electric vehicles.

Future topics include wildlife awareness, growing your own food, and reducing water use for landscaping. The sessions continue until April.
