Two tough wins yesterday by the Cochrane Chaos has wrapped up first place overall in the Alberta Junior Female Hockey League regular season.

Cassidy Brown earned the shutout in a 3-0 win against the Edmonton Wolves yesterday morning in a game that saw all three Chaos goals come on the powerplay.

In the evening game, a powerplay goal by Mackenzie Stafford put the Chaos on the board in the second. Tied after regulation, Kalaina Kozak scored in overtime to lift the Chaos to a 2-1 win.

That makes it 15 straight wins for the Chaos, who haven't lost since mid-October. It also gives them home ice advantage throughout the playoffs.

Having tougher matchups against the top team teams in the north will help prepare the Chaos for the AJFHL playoffs that are a few weeks away.

"We can look at what they did in the games that we played yesterday and apply that if we get that opportunity in March."

The Chaos are 2-1 against the Wolves this season and have yet to lose to the Rustlers.

First, though, is the south division playoffs. Currently, it appears they'll be facing the Calgary Jags in the south semifinal. The second-place Lethbridge Wolves and Calgary Titans will play in the other semifinal.

The Chaos finish their regular season with a pair of games on the weekend. They play the Calgary Titans at Winsport on Feb. 12 before hosting the Southern Sage on Feb. 13 in Totem One at the SLS Family Sports Centre.
