Charges have been laid in connection to the Nov. 27 break-in of an RCMP officer's home in Cochrane.

One suspect has been apprehended and a warrant has been issued for a second person.

Dalton Winnipeg-Darling, 23, a resident of Strathmore, was arrested by Calgary Police in a stolen vehicle. Cochrane's Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) assisted in the investigation and was able to recover the stolen RCMP badge.

He faces charges of break and enter, two counts of possession of stolen property, theft over $5,000, and failure to comply with conditions.

After a judicial interim hearing, Winnipeg-Darling was remanded into custody and will be appearing in Cochrane Provincial Court on Jan. 3, 2023.

Calgary resident Shinise Dunbar, 30, is at-large and a warrant has been issued for her arrest. She has been charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Anyone with information on Dunbar’s location is asked to contact the Cochrane RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

On Nov. 27, suspects broke into a home in Cochrane and stole an RCMP badge and two vehicles. One vehicle was recovered and one vehicle is outstanding.

Cochrane Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) took carriage of the investigation and with assistance from the Calgary Police Service auto theft team, identified Winnipeg-Darling and Shinise Dunbar.
