If you ever wondered about various eating establishments around town, then you may want to check out Taste of Cochrane.

The fourth annual culinary tour will allow you to sample a variety of  fare from approximately 16-18 local restaurants.

Ronnie Knowles, organizer of Taste of Cochrane, says he is pretty excited this year.

"We have a lot of new places, a lot of franchises; one of the newer spots is called 'The Boot' it is southern Italian food and they are on board. Then we have the Half Hitch Brewing Company, which is pretty exciting we have our own brewery in town."

Besides many of the regular participants, Knowles says they have a new addition of a truck that will be smoking pig, beef, and chicken, for 12 hours before the one day festival begins.

"We've just got a really nice line up of restaurants, it's a nice mix, and a good thing to do with your friends."

Knowles, shares events like these are what make Cochrane, 'Cochrane', and are a great way to support local businesses.

"The events of this town make the fabric of this town. It is a tough time economically for all of us, so to get people out and actually into our establishments is really important."

Taste of Cochrane runs October 15 from 11 am- 3 pm. You can grab your tickets at Bergeron Cheese, Mehtab East Indian Cuisine, Tea and Other Things, and Big Hill Pizza for $20.
