A scary moment for witnesses of a crash involving a young boy this afternoon.

The six-year-old is doing fine after being hit by a vehicle in Bow Ridge.

Jeff Avery, fire inspector with Cochrane Fire Services says "We got called to a pedestrian versus vehicle collision and once we got there it looked like a very young child ran between two cars onto the street and just kind of hit the side of the vehicle driving by, so luckily it was very minor injuries, the little child wasn't hurt very badly at all."

It happened at around 1 p.m.

"The car was driving by and he ran out between two cars, and just kind of hit the side of the vehicle. Luckily it wasn't worse."

The boy was assessed by AHS at the scene but was not taken to hospital.

Avery says this serves as a reminder for drivers to slow down.

"That's one of the reasons that residential areas are 30 km/hr. Just always be aware of your surroundings."
