Cochrane remains at zero active cases with 16 recovered. Rockyview County has 14 active cases with 67 recovered. 

After a week of daily new cases of COVID-19 being under 100, Alberta recorded, on Friday, its biggest count of new cases of the virus since back on July 21st.  

There were 134 cases recorded bringing the total in the province to 1,125 active cases.  There are 68 Albertans in hospital with 18 in intensive care units.

Three more deaths were recorded in Alberta bringing the total to 208.

The MacDonald's restaurant located on CrossIron Lane just outside of Balzac closed its doors temporarily on Friday after an employee reported testing positive for the virus.  

The restaurant released a statement saying  McDonald's Canada had made the decision to immediately close the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and sanitation by a

certified third party, "out of an abundance of caution." 

Employees who might have been in contact with the employee in question were asked to also self-quarantine until more information was available. The individual's

last shift was on July 24th between noon and 7:00 pm.  Anyone who was at the restaurant location at that the afore mentioned time should refer to the Alberta Health

Services website for more information.
