The deadline for nominations for Cochrane Community Awards has been extended until Apr. 30.

Chair Valerie McCracken says they have also delayed the award ceremony to a later date due to the rise in COVID-19 cases.

She says there has been an impressive number of nominations submitted in each of the 13 categories, but welcome more.

Cochrane Community Awards is an annual program that recognizes outstanding local citizens, community leaders, schools, businesses, and organizations who help make Cochrane a great place to live.

Completing a nomination is easy through the online form. The option to nominate by completing and submitting a paper application form is also available. To make a nomination, or for more information, please click here.

The Cochrane Community Awards program committee is formed of educators, seniors, businesses, sustainability champions, as well as the Cochrane and District Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Cochrane.

It is funded through sponsorship from local groups and businesses.

A new date and details of the COVID-adapted awards ceremony will be announced at a later date
