A local Cochrane family is once again hosting a fundraiser in support of the Calgary Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

On Saturday, March 5th the public is invited to see Disney's 'Zootopia' in 3D at the Cochrane Movie House starting at 10 am, for $10 a ticket.

This is the third year the Fenton family has taken on a personal quest to raise money and awareness for the NICU.

Valentina Fenton said 100 per cent of the proceeds will go to Sport Chek's Mother's Day Run and Walk.

"It is put on by the Forzani Foundation. John Forzani started it a few decades ago and it supports the Calgary Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit, so they can buy equipment that is needed for the patients."

Fenton said the fundraiser has a personal connection, as her son was in the NICU.

"It became important, for his first year birthday, we wanted to kind of pay it forward and give it back."

Over the last two years the Fenton family has raised just over $8000 and while they have no set fundraising goal they are looking to surpass what it costs to rent out the theatre.

"We really have no goals in mind. The movie costs $790 to rent, so we are hoping to surpass that."

Fenton said people will also be able to bring in donations of baby blankets and preemie baby clothes as those supplies run low at the NICU.

There will also be give-a-ways of 'Pook Toques' and a silent auction happening the morning of the 5th.
