The Cochrane High Cobras dominated the Rocky View Schools Track and Field meet Mon. May 16.

The meet was to qualify to head to the South Central Zone meet, which would then push students to provincials.

Cochrane High, Athletic Director, Rob McNab says over 120 kids participated in the meet, which was a big success for the Cobras.

"We won the track meet," he says. "It's a point total, and we had a little over 1200 points, and the next school had about 500 points. We had a wide margin, it's very characteristic, we have a strong track program here. We qualified a lot of kids."

McNab thinks there's a pretty good shot at winning track provincials again this year.

"We're the defending champions, we've won the last two provincial championships. We will qualify through the South Central Zone at least 25-30 kids to go provincials, but we have to get through the zone next which will be a little tougher."

McNab explains there's too many talented students on the team to count, which is the reason they do so well every year.

"Oh my goodness there's a lot, there's no question, I would have to give you a huge list. We did very well yesterday."
