After a brief hiatus due to the pandemic, The Cochrane & Area Humane Society’s annual Wags & Whisker fundraising gala returns on November 6, 2021.

“This is definitely going to be our biggest event of the year and we're so excited to be able to do it in person again. Just to have all of our supporters join us, and raise some funds for the shelter.” Lisa Kedian, Communications Coordinator for the Cochrane Humane Society said.

“Our fundraising gala usually can bring in anywhere from 50 to 60 thousand dollars for the shelter, and that is a large amount of money that we rely on.”

The event is taking place at the Cochrane Ranchehouse and will feature silent and live auctions, food, and raffles.

Kedian says it’s because of events like this that the shelter can continue its extensive range of care and services. “We're talking close to 2000 homeless pets that come through our doors and this didn't change because of COVID. We still need to provide medical care, behavioral rehabilitation, socialization, surgery treatments for injuries, the list goes on and on.”

Due to the gala being an indoor event, all of the guests that are attending will need to provide government-issued proof of immunization or a negative COVID test from within the previous 72 hours.

Tickets for Wags & Whiskers are available now and early bird pricing is available until October 25, 2021.
